The Academic Success Center provides opportunities for students to develop skills that promote success, practice leadership, and become self-directed learners through the delivery of centralized, high-quality academic support services that are responsive to the needs of the campus community. Online students can request an online academic coaching session or online writing consultation.

Center for Communication Excellence – Graduate College

The Center for Communication Excellence offers online writing, speaking, and thesis and dissertation consultations for online graduate students. The Center also provides in-depth resources that online students can explore in order to support advancing individual communication competencies.

The International Students and Scholars Office provides immigration services, personal support, and cross-cultural expertise within a welcoming and supportive environment for international students and scholars throughout their university experience.

Military-Affiliated Student Center

The Military-Affiliated Student Center strives to provide academic support, transition assistance, and advocacy for military-affiliated students, including Active-Duty service members, veterans, ROTC cadets, Reservists, National Guard members, and dependents (spouses and children).

Academic coaching for military-affiliated students can be requested in a virtual format.

Technical Support – Iowa State Information Technology Services Solution Center

Information Technology Services provides specific web-based, on-demand help for all of your IT needs. Iowa State Solution Center provides evening and weekend technical support and can be contacted by phone (515-294-4000) or email solution@iastate.edu.

Career Services

Each college at Iowa State University has their own career services unit, which enables each college to provide specific support to their unique demographic of students. 

CyHire 

CyHire is a resource provided to help ISU students and alumni seeking internships, co-ops, and post-graduation employment connect with employers. Students can search for jobs employers have listed on CyHire as well as review upcoming career fair events and job search resources.

Enrollment Resources

Find helpful policy and procedures related to scheduling planning, class registration, your student record, and grades.

Enrollment Verification

The Office of the Registrar provides verification or proof of enrollment for loan deferments, insurance companies, potential employers, scholarships, schools, and other entities that need a student’s enrollment verified for a particular period of time. The Office of the Registrar may also provide information such as: class ranking, grade point average, course descriptions, tuition and fees, etc.

To verify your enrollment status at ISU, you need to be registered or enrolled in courses prior to the request. Full-time/part-time status is based on the number of credits in which you are registered or enrolled.

Financial Aid

The Financial Aid office provides information and guidance on the FAFSA, scholarships, grants, and loans. Online students can request a virtual financial aid advising session by calling 515-294-2223 or emailing financialaid@iastate.edu.

Scholarships

With Iowa State University’s OneApp scholarship portal, students can submit scholarship applications in one system. The Office of Student Financial Aid, academic colleges and departments, and other campus units (ex: Student Affairs Central Office, Program for Women in Science and Engineering, Student Accessibility Services, etc.) will use the information available in OneApp to select scholarship recipients.

Employer Reimbursement Deferment Plan

Iowa State University offers a deferment option for employees of businesses and organizations that provide tuition reimbursement programs. With successful enrollment in the deferment plan prior to the beginning of each semester, all applicable charges will be due after grades are presented.

Mental Health and Well-Being

Student Health and Wellness offers a brief self-assessment that students can take any time (and as many times as they want) during the year to help identify possible mental health and Well-Being issues that may be affecting their success at ISU. Upon completion, resources on relevant topics will be provided based on assessment answers.

International Students and Scholars Office

The International Students and Scholars Office provides immigration services, personal support, and cross-cultural expertise within a welcoming and supportive environment for international students and scholars throughout their university experience.

Mental Health Telecounseling

In addition to the services provided at the Student Counseling Services, Iowa State University provides telecounseling services for ALL students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional students).

This includes:

  • Individual therapy and on demand crisis counseling
  • 24/7 access, 365 day per year
  • A broad range of counselors for those looking for a certain background or identity
  • Services for students participating in National Student Exchange or internships
  • Crisis services for students studying abroad

Student Mental Health and Well-Being

Cyclone Support is a Division of Student Affairs program focused on increasing help-seeking behaviors among students to connect to university resources. Resources offered by Student Health and Wellness include Self-Guided Help programs that can be done on students’ own time and other Community Resources, including virtual and confidential Well-Being Coaching and Dietetics Services.
